What if God said he was too busy?

It’s pretty crazy how time flies by as we get older.  As a child the days, weeks, months leading up to Christmas seemed like forever.  Oh to go back to those days when time stood still.  Now, time can’t slow down fast enough.  Each day and week flies by with the blink of an eye.  We barely have enough time to get everything done.  We are so busy in our lives that we don’t stop and smell the roses.  In the Bible it states that our whole life is just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. (James 4:14)

I have never made a New Years Resolution.  NEVER.  I honestly just think it’s something that people say they are going to do, and might do for a month or so then, it falls off to the wasteland never to be seen or heard from again.  But, this year, I’m doing it.  I am making a resolution to SLOW DOWN.  I have spent the last two years stressing myself out about my miscarriages and this past year just trying to get pregnant again.  I have tried to hurry the process up because the devil likes to remind me that I’m getting older by the second.  I have not given up full control to God like I should which I know is something I need to work on.  I may never have another child, but I am so grateful that I do have one. She is the most precious, kind, loving, human I have ever come in contact with.  I need to slow down, and be thankful for what God has done for me.

Sometimes we get caught up in the things we want that we forget the importance of the things we already have.  We forget to thank him for what he’s done for us. There are so many women out there hoping for one child.  Just one.  I need to release all control to God of trying trying trying for another child and appreciate the time I get to spend with the one I have.  I need to do more fun things with her   Making memories with her that we can look back on and smile.

Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17

I also need to slow down and take time with the Lord. We have no problem cramming another Christmas party into our schedule or another visit to Santa Claus into our busy week.  But, are we spending time with the one who created us?   The one who this season is all about?  Are we taking the time to meditate on his word and worship him like we should? I read my bible and do a devotional on average 5 days a week.  But, that’s not enough.  He is the reason I am here on this earth.  He is the reason that I have eternal life.  He is the reason I have a wonderful husband and daughter.  Why wouldn’t I want to spend as much time with him as possible??  But, we get busy. “Life” gets in the way.  Our schedules get too full.  And we’re just tired by the end of the day.  What if God said, “you know, I’m just too busy to send my son to earth”.  “I’m too tired to listen to and answer prayers today.”  Thankfully, our God would never do this.  He has an unfailing love and grace for all of us.  One we can hardly fathom.  We’ve got to slow down, and make the time for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because he took the time for us.

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I read and enjoyed your ‘about’ as well. I don’t know how many times I rewrote my ‘about” before I decided that it said what it needed to say. What you’ve written is great. The truth is the perfect thing to say. 🙂 I look forward to reading more of your posts and seeing life from your perspective.

    1. Thank you so much! I sure enjoyed reading yours yesterday as well. I almost started this blog about 6-8 months ago but quit because I couldn’t think of a name or what to write in the about me! LOL! So I thought, I’ll just be honest and say whatever comes to mind. Winging it full on!

I hear ya on the blog name! I had a problem with that one too! Everything that did come to mind was already taken! So I used my old screen name from back in my Christian networking days. But I had no idea what to do with it… God’s Kid what? By this point I was getting frustrated and “speaks” came to my mind. I didn’t think it was the greatest name to tell you the truth, but I thought well, I need a name so I decided to try it. Sure enough, it wasn’t taken. So that’s how I got my blog name. lol. But, I think it’s what God wanted. I believe that’s what He’s doing me… causing me to speak… whether it’s verbally or in written word. 🙂 Of course… that’s what He wants from all of us, but the whole “speaks” thing has another meaning. That meaning didn’t occur to me when I chose the name though… it sort of hit me later. Here’s the other meaning if you’re interested.

      2. Wow I can totally relate to that post!!! I too have a fear of speaking and calling attention to myself in any way. I’ve been crippled with anxiety for years and just in this past year feel like I’ve been freed from that restraint thanks to God (hence my blog name I am living in freedom). I originally started my blog to share my story of miscarriage and help others going through it but it has been so therapeutic for me to get stuff out just like you felt when writing those drafts. I’ve also loved reading other people’s blogs and sharing similar stories. It can be difficult to find friends and companions that have shared your same fears, anxieties, life experiences and I have found so much of that since blogging. It’s so nice to know I’m not alone, and other people KNOW what I’ve been through bc they have as well. Reading the first part of that post enraged me bc I just experienced something similar with my daughters preschool teacher. She would get upset about something and walk away from the situation to calm herself, due to her walking away from an issue her teacher was punishing her for not participating and then not allow her to go outside with everyone. Luckily I started noticing strange behavior, spoke to a couple other parents and we all went to the director about it. Luckily that teacher is no longer there. They really don’t know how traumatic that can be for a child! It’s heart breaking! I’m glad God has given you a voice to speak and I love how you’ve incorporated that into your blog name 🙂

Thank you! I’m glad that you caught what was going on at school. I didn’t even understand what had happened to me until I wrote that story. I cried my way through it while writing it. Now I can read it without the tears. Going through that at a young age definitely made me very protective of others though, so if I had to go through that to be helpful to others and useful by God then I wouldn’t change a thing. Thankfully the past is the past and the future looks bright. 🙂

I’m really looking forward to reading more from your own perspective. I’ll have to adjust my settings so your posts show up in my notifications.
